The annual Midsummer coffee morning
Our one and only fundraising event of the year. Tea, coffee, home-made scones, a bring-and-buy stall, and the Lodge Secretary with the historic cash-books. All welcome. £2 on the door.
Events & gatherings
We are not a large enough fund to run a public-events programme in any conventional sense. We have one fundraising event a year, two or three quiet open mornings, and a handful of services we are guests at. The whole calendar fits on a single side of A4. It is below.
Our one and only fundraising event of the year. Tea, coffee, home-made scones, a bring-and-buy stall, and the Lodge Secretary with the historic cash-books. All welcome. £2 on the door.
A quiet open-garden afternoon by kind invitation of a Lodge member. A donation of £3 on the gate; tea and a slice of cake included.
A traditional Harvest Festival evening service. The Lodge attends; the Trustees usually present a small cheque from the Almoner's Discretion. Open to the public; no ticket required.
A quiet writing evening for the volunteer envelope-writers. Tea, biscuits, a side room and twelve envelopes. By prior agreement only — please enquire here.
An annual carol service at St Giles. The Trustees attend in lay capacity; the Lodge sponsors the collection sheet. Open to the public; collection in aid of the Almoner's Discretion.
Our quarterly Trustees' meeting. Listed here for transparency rather than for attendance; observers welcome by prior arrangement with the Lodge Secretary.
A quiet morning at which the Trustees and the Lodge Almoner are available to talk to anyone interested in the work of the fund — Brethren, prospective beneficiaries, partner charities, or curious neighbours. Tea provided; no ticket required.
A note on accessibility
Fetcham Village Hall and St Mary's Fetcham are both step-free and have a working induction loop. St Giles Ashtead has step access through the side door (the main door has two stone steps). On-street parking is available within fifty metres of each venue, including marked accessible bays.
If we can prepare for any specific access need ahead of your visit — large-print order of service, a quiet corner, an early-arrival cup of tea — please let us know by writing to [email protected] or by ringing 01386 555 — apologies, 01372 454336.
A small year of small gatherings
If you can come to only one event in the year, come to that one. Tea, a Lodge member or two, and the Lodge Secretary's cash-books open on the table.
